History of LDII


The forerunner organization of Indonesian Islamic Propagation Institute (LDII) was established on January 3, 1972 in Surabaya, East Java, with the name of the Islamic Foundation of Employee (YAKARI) 

In great deliberation [MUBES] YAKARI 1981, the name was changed to the Institute Employees YAKARI Islam [LEMKARI]. 

In great deliberation [MUBES] LEMKARI 1990, in accordance with the direction of General Rudini as Minister of the Interior [Interior Minister] that time, the same name with the acronym LEMKARI Institute of Karate-Do Indonesia, converted into Indonesian Islamic Propagation Institute (LDII)
